Grilled Greek fish is a flavorful and healthy dish that showcases the vibrant Mediterranean flavors. This recipe uses a whole fish, like sea bass or sea bream, but you can also use fillets if you prefer. The combination of olive oil, lemon, garlic, and herbs creates a delicious marinade that imparts a taste of the Greek seaside.

1 whole fish (such as sea bass or sea bream), cleaned and scaled
¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
 1 lemon, juiced
 3 cloves garlic, minced
 1 tsp dried oregano
 1 tsp dried thyme
 salt and pepper to taste
 fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
 lemon wedges for serving
1

To make Grilled Greek Fish:

Prepare the Fish: Ensure the fish is cleaned and scaled. Make a few diagonal cuts on both sides of the fish to allow the marinade to penetrate.

2

Make the Marinade: In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, dried oregano, dried thyme, salt, and pepper.

3

Marinate the Fish: Place the fish in a shallow dish or a large zip-top bag. Pour the marinade over the fish, ensuring it coats both sides. Allow it to marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to 1 hour.

4

Preheat the Grill: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.

5

Grill the Fish: Remove the fish from the marinade and place it on the preheated grill. Grill for about 7-10 minutes per side, or until the fish is cooked through and easily flakes with a fork.

6

Baste with Marinade: During grilling, baste the fish with the remaining marinade to keep it moist and flavorful.

7

Garnish and Serve: Once the fish is cooked, transfer it to a serving platter. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley and serve with lemon wedges.

8

Optional: Drizzle extra olive oil and a squeeze of lemon juice over the grilled fish before serving for added freshness.

9

Serve with a side of Greek salad, roasted vegetables, or greek potatoes for a complete and wholesome meal.

Enjoy the taste of Greece right from your grill!
