Frappé coffee is a beloved and iconic Greek beverage that has become synonymous with leisurely moments and warm afternoons. Known for its frothy, refreshing, and slightly sweet taste, this iced coffee has its roots in Greece but has gained popularity worldwide. Whether enjoyed at a seaside cafe or in the comfort of your home, the Greek frappé offers a delightful combination of strong coffee and a creamy foam.

 tall water glass
 milk frother or milkshake maker
1 - 2 tsp instant coffee (Nescafe Original Classic)
 sugar - optional (see below)
milk - optional (see below)options: milk, cream, or evaporated milk
 3 - 4 ice cubes
 1 cup cold water
 straw
1

Before making a frappé coffee, decide what type of frappé you'd prefer:

In Greece, you will be asked how you'd like it:

- Plain (Sketos): 1 - 2 tsp of instant Nescafe coffee, no sugar, no milk
- Medium (Metrios): 1 - 2 tsps of instant Nescafe coffee; 1 - 2 tsps of sugar
- Sweet (Glykos): 1 - 2 tsps of instant Nescafe coffee, 3 - 4 tsps of sugar
- With Milk (Me Gala) : 1 - 2 tbsp milk, cream, or evaporated milk (to taste)

2

To a tall water glass, add:

- Sugar (sugar first to prevent the coffee from sticking to the glass)
- Instant Nescafe coffee
- Small amount of cold water - just enough to cover the coffee and a bit more

3

Whiz the mixture until a very thick, creamy foam is produced. You should be able to turn the glass upside down and have nothing pour out.

4

Add 3 or 4 ice cubes, milk, and one cup (or more) of cold water.

5

Add a drinking straw, stir, and enjoy!
